Hospitality Important for Radiology Patients

Online reviews are increasingly becoming popular among patients as a way to navigate the health care industry, but that doesn’t mean the reviews always talk about physicians. An article in the JACR® reports only 13.5 percent of over 1,000 Yelp reviews of radiology outpatient centers were about the radiologist. The rest reflected service-related factors such as the front desk or technologist staff. “The findings indicate the extent to which schedulers, receptionists, technologists, and billers all heavily influence patient satisfaction in radiology imaging encounters,” the authors wrote. “Therefore, to achieve patient-centric radiology care, radiologists must promote a service-oriented culture throughout their practice.”
