RO Corner: Radiation Oncology Offerings at ACR 2019

RO Corner May 19

Please join us for the annual ACR meeting in Washington, D.C. from May 18 – 22! There are multiple sessions that are beneficial for a resident/fellow in the field, in addition to RO-specific sessions throughout the event concluding with Capitol Hill Day on Wednesday, May 22.

On Saturday, Radiation Oncology Session 1 includes the 2019 U.S. Government Economic Policy Updates for RO. There is strong suggestion that RO’s current payment model will soon be replaced by an Alternative Payment Model (APM); we are fortunate to have Najeeb Mohideen, MD, FACR, leading a talk on the APM and what we know and understand thus far. This session will be followed by an economics session on new technologies and the associated implications, including coding and billing.

There will also be great resident/fellow-geared talks on Saturday including a networking lunch, job searching, and talks regarding malpractice. On Sunday there will be a workforce update and a “Dictation to Dollar” talk focusing on issues residents face as they transition to attending physicians.

The week concludes on Wednesday with Capitol Hill Day, which is an exciting day where advocates get to meet with policymakers and fight on behalf of our patients to ensure they all get the care they deserve!

You can register at bit.ly/ACR2019_Register.

Hope to see you all there!
