Greetings from the Chair of the Resident and Fellow Section (RFS)
Congratulations to everyone as you complete training and transition to practice, survive yet another of residency, begin radiology residency, or graduate medical school!
This is my fifth year with ACR®, during which time I have watched the RFS grow by leaps and bounds through the hard work of many individuals. It is my privilege to be given the opportunity to continue to help the RFS develop and to represent its members.
My goals as Chair include:
- Continue to build the local, state, and regional infrastructure of the ACR-RFS. ACR’s primary asset is its members. We continue to see the development of new state RFS chapters and strengthening of existing chapters. My goal is to assist the growth of existing state chapters and to help develop any new state chapters.
- Make your voice heard. As radiologists-in-training, we share many common needs with the general members. However, we also have a unique set of needs based on our member-in-training status. My job is to make sure that ACR leadership is aware of and addresses the unique needs of the RFS. We are lucky to have an outstanding team of individuals on the BOC and the CSC, and these individuals value the RFS. I look forward to representing the RFS as a member of the CSC.
- An annual RFS meeting designed for you. The annual RFS meeting, which occurs the Saturday and Sunday before the general ACR meeting, is designed for you — the members. Our goal is to address topics important to members-in-training – how to interview; how to read a job contract; hot trends, such as artificial intelligence; and the economics of radiology. The design of the RFS annual meeting is based on feedback from the members; thus, please contact us if there is something you think we should address at the annual meeting.
As chair, I hope you will not hesitate to contact me or any member of the EC. We work for you, the members.
