SBI Announces New Initiative for Residents

The Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) is pleased to announce a new initiative to simplify the current interview and offer process for residents who apply to breast imaging fellowship programs. The SBI Breast Imaging Fellowship Match Program gives applicants and fellowship programs the opportunity to gather more information and consider all options before making application decisions. “The Fellowship Match Program will set a uniform date and timeline for applicants and permit residents to apply one year before entering a fellowship so they may make informed decisions about their profession,” says Gary J. Whitman, MD, FACR, chair of the SBI Breast Imaging Fellowship Committee.

Check Out the ACR Career Center

Looking for a new job? Look no further. The ACR Career Center is the premier electronic recruitment resource for the radiology profession. The Career Center had over 356 live jobs in January, triple the number of other leading imaging job boards.
The College also invites you to take part in the ACR Career Fair, held in conjunction with the ACR 2016 Annual Meeting. On May 16–17, job seekers will be able to meet directly with employers, network, and make critical industry connections.

New ACR Section Meeting at ACR 2016

The newly formed ACR Senior and/or Retired Section (ACR SRS) will hold its first meeting at ACR 2016 on Monday, May 16, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The group will seek to enhance the experience of the end-of-career or retired radiologists in the ACR by promoting fellowship and interaction, communicating opportunities for continued professional involvement, and enhancing retirement opportunities such as service, financial planning, and recreation.

The committee has established three workgroups that will focus on the following: (1) planning the ACR 2016 SRS event, (2) establishing an SRS web page, (3) and developing a quarterly newsletter. More detailed information on the meeting and future activities of the SRS will be provided as ACR 2016 approaches.
