The YPS executive committee has put together an exciting program targeted for its members at the 2018 ACR annual meeting in May.

We will be starting the morning with a YPS career panel. The YPS has many unique transitions with starting first jobs, switching jobs, and negotiating. Hopefully, the panel can shed some light on these challenging YPS issues.

We are also excited to invite Cheri L. Canon, MD, FACR, chair of radiology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, to discuss burnout in the YPS group. We will have Keith J. Dreyer, DO, PhD, vice chair of radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and assistant professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Mass., to discuss interesting opportunities in AI. Ezequiel Silva, MD, FACR, chair of the ACR Commission on Economics, will share how the YPS can get more involved with the College throughout their careers. We have also invited ACR RADPAC® Director Ted Burnes to give us an update on the ongoing efforts of RADPAC.

Our second panel of the morning will discuss how all of us can enhance our communication skills with patients as we move from volume to value and patient-centered care in radiology. We will finish up our programming with the YPS elections for the executive committee. If you have not already submitted your application to run for a position there is still time! The deadline is April 20, 2018. It is an excellent leadership opportunity and a great way to learn more about how the ACR works for its members. For anyone who is interested and has questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or anyone on the executive committee.
