Meditation May Aid With Biopsy Pain

Meditation has been linked with a variety of benefits, from stress relief to increased memory. Now, researchers from the Duke Cancer Institute in Durham, N.C., say it helps with breast cancer biopsies. The study, published in the JACR®, examined 121 women who either listened to recorded meditation and music or received standard biopsy care (meaning they received a health care worker offering casual conversation and support). The women who listened to meditation reported significantly greater anxiety reduction and reduced fatigue when compared with the patients who received standard care. Read more about the study at
