New Resources for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Dispatch MamInfoG tablet

The ACR and Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) have added tools and resources to the new Mammography Saves Lives™ website to help explain the benefits and risks of getting (and not getting) annual mammograms to their patients. Resources include a new series of high-definition educational videos that members can download and use to educate patients and providers about common breast cancer myths and misconceptions — including the frequency of overdiagnosis and false positives. A downloadable infographic helps explain to patients and referring providers the actual risk of callback and biopsy related to annual screening. You will also find the latest research to explain why the ACR and SBI continue to recommend that women begin annual mammograms at age 40.
